Poporang Island is located on the SE side of shortland island in the western Solomon Islands. The island is 3.7 km long and 2 km wide.
Poporang island is deeply indented on the SE side. Nila village has a store.
The remains of Japanese seaplanes and barges from WWII lie in 10-15 m of water. Inland there are remains of more seaplanes.
